We had a whipping willo tree that became deseased to the point I had to cut it down. It had black spots on the bark and the bark would rot and fall off.We would like to plant a new tree beside the old one. Will it get the deseae from the roots still un t6he ground?

Paul,
A common way for trees to get diseases is through the soil. Unless it has been a few years I would avoid planting the same tree in that location. You could also research exactly what disease or insect you had and plant a tree that is immune in that spot. A local nursery should be able to help you pick a suitable tree. Hope that helps!
